Newly-formed association to promote Old Town Battle Ground

In a press release, Battle Ground resident Denise Hays, OTBGA director, said she looks forward “to building long-term alliances with community groups, residents, property owners, business owners, business groups and governmental agencies as we determine our path forward.”

Hays said OTGBA members will utilize the “Main Street Approach” and focus on four areas: organization, promotion, design and economic restructuring. The association will also apply for the Washington State Main Street Tax Credit Program.

The organization’s more immediate goals involve board recruitment, writing bylaws, determining a budget and data collection. OTBGA recently launched Facebook and Twitter accounts, and a website is in the works.

The association will host a town hall meeting on Thursday, May 22 at Mill Creek Pub (1710 SW 9th Ave., Battle Ground) to further discuss the “Main Street Approach.” Old Town business and property owners and interested community members are encouraged to attend. The discussion begins at 6 p.m., followed by a 30-minute presentation and Q&A session to the public at 7 p.m.
