Holmberg was one of three finalists for the city of Ridgefield’s city manager position. That race is now down to Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart and Chris Sutter, assistant police chief at the city of Vancouver.
The decision to leave the port and to withdraw his name from the Ridgefield race – in favor of the position at BergerABAM’s Vancouver office – boiled down to the type of work he ultimately wants to do, Holmberg explained.
“At this point my career really is focused on public relations and community involvement, so the fit [at BergerABAM] for what I want to be doing is just perfect.”
Holmberg’s last day at the Port of Woodland is March 14.
