Hey planners, Top Projects is just around the corner

Not to nag, but the Vancouver Business Journal’s annual Top Projects magazine and celebration is just around the corner. We just wanted to take a moment to thank those of you who have visited www.vbjusa.com and clicked on Breaking Ground to send us notification of your Clark, Skamania and Cowlitz County projects that have turned dirt.

We will follow up with lots of questions about your project architects, engineers and subcontractors to compile a complete entry for this year’s Top Projects. Meanwhile the Breaking Ground notice will appear in the next VBJ Design and Construction focus section. Those of you who haven’t sent your projects, don’t delay! Each one is a building block to the most well rounded picture of the Southwest Washington construction landscape. You can also call or fax us the information, and we will follow up with you.

The Vancouver Business Journal publishes a Design and Construction focus section 12 times a year, and we are looking for great story ideas, professionals to profile and the issues that are the most important to you. Let’s start here: is there an architect at your firm, an engineer in your group, a foreman on a job site that rises above the rest? Drop our editor a line at jswanson@vbjusa.com and tell her about them. Don’t forget to include their name, title and the important role they play in the Southwest Washington D&C community. We’d like to get to know the work better by getting to know the folks doing it.

And D&C isn’t just for designers and general contractors. Great work is being done by small subs in their specialties. If your company works regularly in Clark County, or has done a jaw dropper of a job recently, let us know – maybe we can take a closer look at it.

In other news, the entry period for the Business Growth Awards closes on March 26. If your business is surpassing expectations, growing rapidly or adding staff and you haven’t gotten your entry in yet, there is still time. Call Jennifer Young at 360-695-2442 for more information.
