Up Close With Janet Kenefsky

Current job: Vice president of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.

Proudest professional moment: When an employee of five years walked into my office on a Monday morning and said she spends her weekends with friends who complain about going back to work and how lucky she feels that she can’t wait to come and work with me each day.

First job: Burger King in Beaverton. I made employee of the month twice!

Fun fact: I had an opportunity of a lifetime to stand on and tour the bottom of the Panama Canal expansion locks just two days before it was filled with water, forever.

Favorite way to spend a Saturday night while staying home: Getting some much needed facetime with my friends via a Zoom Happy Hour and working on my lack-luster culinary skills with new recipes.

Favorite movie: “Shall We Dance?” Both the American and the Japanese version (with subtitles of course).

Music of choice: I love it all! Pop, country, Latin, alternative and piano are my top.

Current favorite place to get takeout/delivery: My current go-to has been Crave Grill (amazing BLTA (sans “B” for me though) or Elements (their cauliflower steak is ah-mazing)!

Motto/Inspirational quote: The only way to win with a toxic person … is not to play.
