Urban Abundance to celebrate third Seasonal Feast

Urban Abundance, a Vancouver-based part of Slow Foods Southwest Washington, will hold its bi-annual Seasonal Feast on Friday, October 28th at 6:00 p.m.

A true “farm-to-table” experience, farmers, chefs and foodies from across Clark County are encouraged to attend the Seasonal Feast to share a meal, create friendships and to build the local food system.

“The biggest obstacle to localizing our food system is that we are lacking the personal relationships between growers, eaters and those in the food industry,” said Urban Abundance Executive Director Warren Neth. “Most restaurateurs are familiar with the traditional system of ordering from a large distributors catalog. Buying directly from the farmer is a whole different way to do purchasing. Getting the chef and farmer to build friendships is key to creating a vibrant local food system.”

The Fall Seasonal Feast will be held at the soon-to-open Mill Creek Pub, located at 1710 Southwest 9th Avenue, Suite 101, in Battle Ground.

“There’s nothing more exciting to me then filling a table with a feast made from ingredients grown from farms in my community,” said Mill Creek Pub owner Russell Brent. “We plan to highlight local farms at Mill Creek Pub, so this is right up my alley.”

Tickets to the Seasonal Fest may be purchased online at www.myurbanabundance.org.
