Taking a swing at Swine Flu

Swine Flu has swept the nation, and left a sea of face masks and worry in its wake.

But one local company is happy to have its name associated with the outbreak.

Vancouver-based GWI Software has learned that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention is using c.Support to support the mission-critical applications being used to track the outbreak of the H1N1 flu virus in the United States.

"The CDC uses a number of mission-critical applications to track all kinds of different things," said Eric Anderson of GWI Software. "Our software is being used to make sure all of those mission-critical applications are funning smoothly and that nothing is dropped through the cracks."

c.Support is an information technology help desk software. The web-based service and support management tool is highly customizable to the unique processes and requirements of its users.

The company released c.Support 8.0 earlier this spring. The update incorporates numerous performance improvements and additional management tools, including an enhanced user interface, alerts and other graphical design options.
