Strong and growing

Believe it or not, some companies are growing.

When the VBJ did a call for nominations for the annual Business Growth Awards, they came in from large-scale electrical contractors, small retailers, a national restaurant chain, tech support companies, manufacturers and nonprofits.

In getting to know our finalists, we’ve found these common threads: They know where they’re going and are developing new strategies to get there.

“The trick to success would be growing very slowly and making sure we never lose our edge for customer service,” said Scott Huotari, president of finalist Creative Computer Solutions Inc.

The finalists are Tully’s Coffee, StitchCraft, Ecolution NW, Nutrition Now,  the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, Share, YWCA Clark County, Dream Big Community Center, Simply Thyme Catering, Acuity Group, Electrix, On Line Support, Creative Computer Solutions Inc., Silicon Forest Electronics, Papa Murphy’s, Foster and Assoc. and ControlTek.

The winners will be announced at 5 p.m. on April 16 at the Hilton Vancouver. Tickets are $45. Visit www.vbjusa.com or call 360-448-6006 to RSVP.
