Roma Bergstrom, former CEO of Cardinal Associates Inc., d/b/a Bergstrom Nutrition, received the Kyle W. Corwin Legacy Builder Award this week from the Vancouver Business Journal.
The award recognizes one person annually who has spent their career leading, mentoring, building a business and giving back.
Bergstrom retired from her position as CEO in 2012. The Vancouver-founded company manufactures and sells nutritional supplements.
A philanthropist by nature, Bergstrom can regularly be spotted at local charitable events. In the early years of Bergstrom Nutrition, she would gather employees to help prepare a roast beef meal for the local Share House. This would eventually earn her the nickname “roast beef lady.”
Additionally, through the local Rotary club, Bergstrom ran a program that provided vitamins to one of Clark County’s elementary schools. She was also involved with the Rotary’s annual Festival of Trees.
Education is paramount in Bergstrom’s mind, and along with her husband, Richard Paz, she established a scholarship fund at Clark College to help fund education for many people for years to come.
