The closure impacts roughly 164 non-seasonal employees at the Vancouver location and about 220 non-seasonal employees at Lloyd Center store. The company said employees who want to continue on with Nordstrom will likely have a position available for them at another location.

A spokesperson for Westfield said the mall will look to build on its strong track record of recovering former department store real estate.

“Although Nordstrom will be missed, we view this departure as an opportunity to add exciting new energy, choice and convenience to Westfield Vancouver” said the spokesperson. “In just the last two years, we’ve invested in the shopping center to make it even better with interior renovations, a new PlaySpace and Family Lounge. We’ve added dynamic entertainment offerings and retailers like Cinetopia, White House I Black Market, Loft, Francesca’s Collection and G by Guess.”

Nordstrom, meanwhile, said the company will continue to serve customers from its three Portland-area full-line stores (downtown Portland, Washington Square and Clackamas Town Center) and four Nordstrom Racks (Clackamas, Tanasbourne, Portland and Cascade Plaza).

“Our company is still growing,” he said. “We’re investing in our full-line stores, building and expanding our Rack stores and continuing to hire. Though these two locations don’t work for us anymore, we’re still very committed to our customers and employees here. We have a long history in the Portland area and really love serving this community – our stores here are amongst some of our most successful in the country. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers here long into the future.”
