New jeweler set to open downtown

Looks like downtown Vancouver will be getting a little bit more bling come fall.

Vancouver resident Rand Schiltz, a 10-year veteran custom jeweler for Erik Runyan Jewelers, plans to open his own store Nov. 1 at 114 Evergreen Blvd.

Schiltz closed Monday on a lease for 800 square feet of retail space in a deal worth $67,957, according to lessor representative Coldwell Banker Commercial Jenkins-Bernhardt Associates.

Schiltz told the VBJ that he realized times were tough for many local businesses, but was confident the retail economy would rebound.

The planned jeweler will be the third retail showroom located in downtown Vancouver, joining Runyan Jewelers and My Jeweler.
