Legacy Health voices concern over lack of approved exchange plans locally

“The limited choice of insurers means that many people may have to choose between continuity of care – that is, staying with their current providers – and receiving the benefits of subsidies available in the exchange,” said Green. “This displacement is harmful to the quality of care the ACA was intended to improve.

“We strongly urge the members of the Exchange Board to reconsider the nine companies that applied to provide insurance plans within the exchange. You have the opportunity to ensure the creation of a viable, successful health insurance exchange that serves every citizen, regardless of where they might reside within the state,” he added.

The board is now expected to vote on the approved plans sometime within the next two weeks.
