Leads group names standout networkers

Now in its 10th anniversary year, Vancouver-based Corporate Resource Alliance recognized nine professionals Dec. 19 with Networking of the Decade awards to recognize excellence in using networking to build personal business and assist others in the same quest.

Silver Awards went to Paul Montague of the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, Kelley Barenz of Alan Webb Dealerships, Jennifer Vail of U.S. Bank and Brook Trang, formerly of Courtyard by Marriott (she is now a stay-at-home mother).

Gold Awards went to Sherrie Davis of Qwest Communications, Trey Avoytilla of Paychex, Tammy Haas of Anchor Bank and Cindy Hanson, formerly of River City Travel.

Cindy Johnson, an advertising account manager at the Vancouver Business Journal, was named Networker of the Decade.

“It’s hard to meet people who don’t know Cindy,” said Corporate Resource Alliance Founder Ralph Stevens. “But the difference is, it’s not just that they know her, she literally does know them.”

In addition to the VBJ, Johnson worked at the NW Women’s Journal prior to its closure, The Columbian and Techjet Imaging in recent years.

“Cindy is a mover and shaker when it comes to growing the business she’s responsible for growing,” Stevens said. “But she also looks at all of the other moving parts…She reaches out to help others and excels at it.”
