Kenny permanent pick for Columbia Credit Union CEO

After a six-month search, Vancouver-based Columbia Credit Union this afternoon announced the selection of interim CEO Steve Kenny as its permanent pick to head the 57-year old financial institution.

Last April, Kenny replaced CEO Parker Cann, who left CCU to become senior vice president and corporate counsel at Boeing Employees' Credit Union, one of the largest member-owned, nonprofit financial organizations in Washington state.

After Cann's departure, the CCU Board of Directors formed an Executive Search Committee to work with a national recruiting firm to find a permanent replacement. However, after a long search, the board apparently decided on a candidate closer to home.

Before his appointment as interim CEO, Kenny served as CCU's senior vice president and chief financial officer. Kenny will continue to lead a credit union with over 64,000 members, 11 branches and $770 million in assets.
