Business leaders to testify before Senate Transportation Committee

“We’re pleased to see projects in Ridgefield and Battle Ground on the list,” said ICC President Paul Montague in a press release. “We see the $14 million investment in these two projects as a small starting point for discussions. The proposed transportation revenue package is worth $12.3 billion. We want to see a larger investment in our region. We have good projects to show to our legislators and we will be asking for their support.”

Southwest Washington’s Regional Transportation Council has identified more than $1.25 billion in needed transportation projects and over $700 million in expected preservation and repair work that will be needed in Southwest Washington over the next decade.

“We have projects from Ridgefield to Washougal, and from Battle Ground to Vancouver, that are pre-engineered and ready to go,” said Mike Bomar, incoming president of CREDC.

GVCC, ICC and CREDC will host a December 11 “Legislative Outlook Breakfast” at the Vancouver Hilton from 7-9 a.m. to discuss transportation priorities for the region with legislators and the business community. They will also roll out their shared legislative agenda for 2014, which you can read about here.
