WSU Vancouver chancellor candidates to visit campus

Karen White, a professor of music at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, will tour the campus at WSU Vancouver on Monday, February 27. White has served as the regional chancellor of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg and senior advisor to the campus executive officer at University of South Florida Polytechnic. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Arkansas, and master’s and doctoral degrees in violin performance from the University of Arizona.

Emile Netzhammer, III, provost and professor at Keene State (N.H.) College, will visit WSU Vancouver on Wednesday, February 29. Netzhammer has worked at Keene State since 2006; he previously was the dean of arts and humanities at Buffalo State College. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communication for Loyola University in New Orleans and his master’s degree in mass communication and doctoral degree in communication from the University of Utah.

The appearances come just days after the two other candidates – Cheryl Norton, senior fellow of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, and Taylor Eighmy, vice president for research and professor at Texas Tech University – toured the campus.

“We are pleased with the quality of the applicants who are seeking this position,” said Gay Selby, chair of the chancellor search committee and clinical associate professor in the College of Education. “We believe the four finalists are particularly strong candidates who offer an interesting range of backgrounds and skill sets. We look forward to hosting them, acquainting them with what WSU Vancouver has to offer and getting feedback from the university community.”
