The Wellness Project expanding hours, seeking mental health counselors

The Wellness Project is expanding its hours of operation and will open the clinic one additional day on Saturdays beginning in October.

A program of Community Services Northwest (CSNW), The Wellness Project is a free mental health clinic that provides mental health services to Clark County residents, who are uninsured, underinsured, non-Medicaid, or who otherwise lack insurance for mental health services.

The program is now recruiting Master’s-level, professional counselors and social workers who would be available to volunteer their time to see clients for individual therapy on Saturdays. The program is also in need of administrative volunteers.

Last year, 45 volunteers and student interns served 334 individuals and provided 3,109 hours of therapy at no cost. This was a 24 percent increase over the services provided in 2009.
