Sustainability Conference to be held next month

Vendor display opportunities available to Southwest Washington businesses

The Southwest Washington Sustainability Conference and Trade Show will be held June 21 and 22 at the Hilton Vancouver Hotel and Convention Center. Presented by the city of Vancouver, Clark County and Clark Public Utilities, national and regional experts will join local companies and organizations to explore sustainability in light of economic development and environmental impacts in Clark County.

Keynote speakers will be Alan Durning, founder of the Sightline Insitute, and Hunter Lovins of Natural Capitalism Solutions. The Portland, Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle Offices of Sustainability have been invited to talk about neighboring efforts.

Don Shaffer of the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies and Nik Blosser of Celilo Media, which publishes Sustainable Industries, will speak about trends in business and media coverage of the issues. Products and advances in green building will be discussed, as well as renewable energy options for businesses and homes. Washington State University’s Curtis Hinman and Tom Liptan from the city of Portland will report on the benefits and methods of low impact development and storm water management.
