School of Piano Technology for the Blind announces “Keys to the City”

A citywide music and arts program featuring 10 pianos, prepared by students at Vancouver’s School of Piano Technology for the Blind and painted by local artists, will take place between August 17 and 26.

The pianos will be available for all to play in some of Vancouver’s most popular public places. At the end of the event, the pianos will be donated to local nonprofit agencies.

“This project is about bringing the community together for a fun event that will inspire people to enjoy Vancouver even more,” the school’s Executive Director Jeff Lan said in a press release.

The event is supported by the City of Vancouver, the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and Vancouver’s Downtown Association. Sponsors include Columbia Credit Union, Garrow Equity Group, OnPoint Community Credit Union, Pacific Continental Bank, Riverview Community Bank, Sterling Ban and Big Al’s Specialty Movers.

More information about locations and donors will be made available soon at Vancouver’s School of Piano Technology for the Blind‘s website.
