Ridgefield accepting applications for city council positions

The city of Ridgefield is looking for two residents to fill open positions on the Ridgefield City Council. Applications can be found on the city’s website and are due September 6, 2012.

The two vacancies were created in April, 2012, when the city’s official population first exceeded 5,000 – the threshold in state law that requires the council to grow from five members to seven.

Each of the new positions will serve until the next municipal election (November 2013). At that time, one of the new positions will be elected to a two-year term while the other will be elected to a four-year term.

To be considered, interested applicants must submit an application form, a cover letter and a brief resume. For more information, visit the city of Ridgefield website.
