Renovated Artillery Barracks to host Top Projects & Building Excellence Awards

The Vancouver Business Journal and the Building Industry Association of Clark County, in conjunction with the Southwest Washington Contractors Association, recently selected the newly renovated Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks as the site for the 2011 Top Projects and Building Excellence reception and awards presentation held on August 25 from 4 to 7 p.m.

In its eighth year, Top Projects recognizes construction projects categorized in three areas: Commercial Development, Residential Development and Public Works. Projects in these categories will be ranked by cost of construction, not including cost of land or furnishings.

The Building Excellence Awards, presented at the same event, are conferred by a jury of building industry experts and awarded based on a set of criteria which each project is evaluated against. In addition to the three categories for Top Projects, Building Excellence will also recognize landscaping projects.

Tickets to the event are $35 and can be purchased at www.vbjusa.com.

Renovations on the 40,000-square-foot barracks, located at
600 East Hatheway Road in Vancouver, wrapped up last month and were funded in part by a $1 million grant administered by the Washington State Historical Society.
