Pilot program to allow regular block foam recycling at single location

As of this month, residents of Clark County will be able to recycle clean block foam, along with unwanted computers and other electronic materials, at no charge five days a week.

Empower Up, a nonprofit organization that recycles electronics and offers computer training, has partnered with the county and the city of Vancouver on a pilot program for block foam. The material will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at Empower Up’s donation center at 5000 East Fourth Plain Boulevard.

The pilot program is scheduled to last through the end of 2011.
