The Washington State Legislature recently approved the following bills:
HB 1329 requires union membership of directors and workers at daycare centers across the state and provides the unionized workers access to collective bargaining rights, passing 62 to 35. The bill is now before the Senate.
HB 2403 clarifies that military leave includes active state duty which covers individuals serving in the National Guard and State Guard. The bill passed unanimously and is now before the Senate.
SB 6382 extends the prohibition on salary and wage increases for certain state employees through June 30, 2011. The Bill passed the House, 94-3, and is now back in the Senate for agreement on amendments.
