$12.5 million contract goes to Pa. company

On April 30, WSDOT awarded the final construction contract for the Lewis and Clark Bridge in Longview to Odyssey/Geronimo JV of Houston, Pa.., with a winning bid of $33.7 million. 

This final phase of work paints all the steel above the roadway and applies a protective coating to restore and preserve this historic bridge. Construction is expected to begin in July.

Originally built in 1929, the 80-year-old bridge is a historic landmark and connection for Washington and Oregon, carrying an average of 21,000 vehicles per day.

Second annual uptown First Friday hits Uptown Village

Vancouver's Historic Uptown Village 2nd Annual Craft in the Village will take place on May 7, June 4, July 2, August 5 and September 3 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

Musicians, artists, crafts and food vendors will set up on the sidewalk.

The Uptown Village is located just north of downtown Vancouver, centered around Main Street between Mill Plain and Fourth Plain.

Papa Murphy's completes sale to Lee Equity

Papa Murphy's International announced the completion of its sale to New York-based Lee Equity Partners. Terms and details of the deal are not being disclosed.

"We have worked very hard to complete this transaction, and we are all eager to get on with the next chapter in the life of the Papa Murphy's brand," said John Barr, chairman and CEO of Papa Murphy's.

Papa Murphy's operates nearly 1,200 franchised and corporate-owned locations.

Applewood moving in August

Applewood Northwest Bistro and Catering, a restaurant and caterer, announced they are moving to the Northfield neighborhood, at the corner of 192nd Avenue and 20th Street in Vancouver.

The exact date is yet to be determined, but construction on the new, 5000 sq. ft location is already underway. Applewood intends to open their new doors in late August or early September, and are boasting a larger patio area.
