Pacific Northwest conservation groups combine

Two of the leading regional land conservation nonprofits, Columbia Land Trust and Three Rivers Land Conservancy, have combined into one organization.

"In a region growing as quickly as the Pacific Northwest, it's critical to have conservation organizations that serve local community needs while also taking on regionally-significant projects." says Glenn Lamb, Executive Director of Columbia Land Trust 

 The combined group will retain the Columbia Land Trust name, its mission to "conserve and care for vital lands, waters, and wildlife of the Columbia River region." The group has 17 staff members located at offices in Vancouver, Portland, Hood River and Astoria.

Licensing change for body art

Tattooists, body artists and body piercers across the state can begin applying for their industrie's new professional licenses this month.

The new law requires such technicians to obtain and maintain a new state license as a measure to protect public health.

"We worked closely with industry representatives to create a licensing program that ensures all practitioners are using uniform safety and sanitation practices," said department of licensing director Liz Luce.

Landscape design/build firm nets exclusive distributorship

G2 Outdoor Living, a regional landscape design/build firm and nursery stock farm based in Vancouver and Ridgefield, has received an exclusive distributorship from Z.H. Sport  World 2007 Ltd., an Israeli company that specializes in outdoor workout equipment 

"We believe there is a substantial market for outdoor workout equipment throughout the Americas," said Garret Hergert, President of G2 Outdoor Living.  

Hergert expects to showcase the outdoor fitness line at the Clark County Parade of Homes beginning today. He is seeking multiple installations in the greater Portland-Vancouver region, and has plans to market and install the equipment across most of the Americas.
