City of Battle Ground receives WSDOT certification acceptance

The Washington State Department of Transportation has completed its project management review of Battle Ground’s North Parkway Improvement Project – Phase II and, based on a favorable review of the project, has granted the city full certification acceptance.

Certification acceptance allows the city to perform project design and contract administration on federally funded projects with reduced WSDOT involvement.

Battle Ground was granted nearly $500,000 in federal funds for Phase II of the North Parkway Improvement Project that was completed last May. The endeavor served as a pilot project for the city’s certification, saving over $100,000 in WSDOT oversight costs.  The final certification acceptance from WSDOT allows the city to design and administer all future federally funded projects with minimal third-party oversight, creating further cost savings.
