New program to support low-income homeowners

Evergreen Habitat for Humanity has kicked off a new program that will begin repairing low-income homes.

The program, called “A Brush with Kindness,” will focus on providing painting, landscaping and minor repair services to low-income homeowners. The work will be done by volunteers, using donated materials whenever possible.

The program’s first project, the Battle Ground Senior Center, will receive a fresh coat of paint, power-washed walkways and a revamp of its landscape.
