Local businesses create $1,000,000 capital improvement fund

Clark County-based Share recently announced that several Vancouver business people and businesses created a $1,000,000 capital improvement fund for Share’s Fromhold Service Center (located on Andresen Road across from WinCo Foods) as well as a matching grant for CDM Services’ new headquarters.

The funding plan was lead by KMR Group Foundation, run by local business owners Kate Jones and Marty Rifkin. KMR Group Foundation contributed $150,000 toward a matching capital grant from several anonymous donors. These donations created a total of $500,000 in funding.

KMR Group Foundation also committed an additional $150,000 as a matching grant to CDM Services to purchase space from Share for its new headquarters that will create $300,000 in funding. Northwest Natural Products, a long time Share supporter, also worked with local donors to create an additional $200,000 in funding for the renovation.

Mike Westby, of Westby Associates, has been working on the funding plan for the new Share facility.

“Without the work of many people and organizations in our community, given the recent loss of some funding for this project, this may not have become a reality,” he said.
