“All I can say is it was a pleasure to do this,” said Anstine, who taught art in Vancouver public schools before retiring last year. Anstine was chosen from a field of 15 proposals submitted for the mural work.
The mural is just outside the main doors to Legacy Salmon Creek’s seven-bed pediatric emergency department, which sees about 35 patients a day.
The medical center said it expects to work with Anstine to complete other murals in other pediatric departments in the hospital and the adjacent medical office building.
