High End Market Place, Vancouver’s third recreational marijuana store located in Uptown Village (1906 Broadway) will hold a ribbon cutting on April 20 (4/20), the unofficial holiday of the marijuana enthusiast.
“This year is significant for the 4/20 holiday because we are celebrating more than marijuana consumption; we are celebrating legal marijuana,” said store owner Gareth Kautz in a press release. “It is time to bring marijuana into the light and try to end the reign of the black market, and the negative stigma still associated with cannabis. We do this by educating the public about the benefits of legal marijuana and selling our products at the lowest price possible. And that’s what we’ve done since we opened in January, and that’s what we’ll continue to do.”
Representatives from the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce will be on hand during the event, as will Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt.
