GF Strategies celebrates 20 years

Formerly Winning Ticket Strategies of Vancouver, company president Greg Flakus changed the name in 2000 to GF Strategies, reflecting a focus on food-service planning for profit. The company has expanded its expertise to stadiums, arenas, university sports venues and other concession outlets.

This year, in a difficult economy, GFS was able to work with all of its clients to keep food sales numbers growing, even with pricing at the same levels and paid attendance down at many of the fairs that are a part of the company’s fairs division. GFS has worked at the Clark County Fair since 1999.

In addition to the fairs division, the firm also assists expo centers, convention centers, stadiums and arenas with the selection of year-round food service companies and provides onsite visits to analyze current food and beverage operations.

First four certified trainers expand the DIY Marketing Center’s training team

The DIY Marketing Center (DIYMC) announced the certification of four trainers of the DIYMC’s Certified Trainer Program. These new trainers expand the capacity of the DIY Marketing Center to present its signature Marketing Blueprint classes, which guide entrepreneurs through the development of effective marketing plans.

Marketing Blueprint classes are held onsite in the DIY Marketing Center’s Vancouver and Portland training rooms, as well as virtually through teleconferences and webinars. The addition of the four new trainers boosts the DIY MC’s training capacity to 500 entrepreneurs, as well as quadrupling the level of qualified expertise available to members.

All four new trainers are active members of the DIYMC’s Mastermind, a business-building program incorporating marketing classes, coaching and community for entrepreneurs.

The first four certified trainers are Victoria Cook, Shannon Lee, Kim Phipps and Eileen Shine.

The DIY Marketing Center serves entrepreneurs locally as well as globally, with educational programming that is available in two local onsite locations as well as virtually through teleconferences and webinars, and archived online in the resource-heavy membersite.
