ENERGY STAR recognizes Clark Public Utilities

Clark Public Utilities (CPU) has won the ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing Award for its sponsorship of energy efficient home building in Clark County.

Last year, 39 percent of homes built in Clark County were certified ENERGY STAR, according to CPU.

“We are always looking for ways to help homebuilders and homeowners conserve energy and have supported the ENERGY STAR home certification program from the start,” said Wayne Nelson, Clark Public Utilities general manager and CEO. “ENERGY STAR homes are at least 15 percent more efficient than traditional construction and every bit of energy savings helps our customers. It adds up.”
