Citing a need to cut spending, Cowlitz County Commissioners are reorganizing the county’s building and planning department.
On Tuesday, commissioners promoted Operations Manager Dr. Elaine Placido to director of the department, effective July 1. Placido’s current position will remain vacant.
“We are continuing to address personnel needs, customer service enhancements and budgetary constraints,” said Cowlitz County Commissioner Dennis Weber in a press release.
Other reassignments of duties are still pending to assure the continuation of building and planning’s customer service focus, county officials noted.
