Columbia Credit Union receives social responsibility award

The annual Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award recognizes and promotes credit unions’ social responsibility efforts within the communities they serve. Dora Maxwell was an early credit union pioneer who helped organize hundreds of credit unions and worked to improve the living standards of the poor and needy.

Throughout 2011, CCU helped raise $2.9 million, contributed more than 1,250 volunteer hours and assisted 65 organizations to support Clark County’s economic development, mental and physical health, education, basic needs, sustainability and arts/culture.
