Clark County’s first synagogue under construction

Congregation Kol Ami hosted a groundbreaking celebration earlier this week at the site of Clark County’s first synagogue, which should be completed this fall.

Located at 7800 Northeast 119th Street in Vancouver, the new synagogue will be the focal point for religious services and celebrations such as bar and bat mitzvahs, according to Congregation Kol Ami President Cheryl Richards. The building will also house classrooms for religious and Hebrew studies.

“Our new home will consolidate all of our activities, and allow for continued growth of our already thriving Jewish community,” said Richards.

Robert Brown Architects, of Portland, designed the building. The construction contractor is Robertson and Olson of Vancouver.
