City of Vancouver recognized for financial reporting

The city of Vancouver received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the 27th consecutive year.

The award was specifically presented to the city for its 2010 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), which is prepared by the financial and management services department under the leadership of Lloyd Tyler, city of Vancouver chief financial officer.

“Receiving this award represents a significant accomplishment by the city of Vancouver and our finance staff and managers,” said Tyler in a press release. “The citizens of Vancouver can also take pride in the level of excellence that this certificate represents.”

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, Illinois and Washington, D.C.
