Applewood Restaurant will open a 1,100-square-foot retail storefront adjacent to its current location on the corner of Southeast 192nd Avenue and 20th Street in Camas.
On schedule to open in October, Applewood NW Delicatessen & Catering will feature hand-crafted appetizers, prepared entrees, salads, sandwiches, retail wines, Grand Central Bakery breads, sweets and other locally-made food items.
“We’re going to try and get as many local food people to contribute,” said Applewood owner/chef Peter Gallin, adding that he plans to visit the farmers market in the coming weeks in an effort to find local businesses that would like to sell their locally-made products year-round.
The new location will also serve as a way to rebrand and promote Applewood’s catering business, according to Gallin.
“We’re going to make it really nice. It’s going to be a win-win for everyone,” he said.
