AIG acquires Alpha Iron

Alliance Industrial Group Inc. (AIG) of Portland has acquired Alpha Iron, a structural steel fabricator located in Vancouver’s Columbia Business Center. Alpha Iron specializes in hi-tech, sports arenas, commercial high rises and manufacturing facilities.

The acquisition increases Alpha Iron’s capacity through the influx of capital, allowing them to expand while giving AIG, who currently employs 110 people, additional in-house fabricating capacity, the company said.

Alpha Iron is an A.I.S.C. shop, which qualifies them to work on complex projects with very tight tolerances. The company’s projects include the Portland Airport garage, the University of Oregon’s Matthew Knight Arena and the Edith Green-Wendel Wyatt Federal Building.
