Frisch will oversee the BIA’s marketing and communication efforts including its monthly newsletter, website, membership e-blasts & publications. Additionally, she will prepare press releases and maintain outreach with local contacts. She will also serve as the staff contact for the Green Building Council, Building Futures Foundation Scholarship Committee and Remodelers Community Outreach Committee.

Prior to joining the BIA, Frisch was the co-founder and co-producer of the Better Living Show, from 2007-2013. She has also worked locally as the marketing manager for the Clark County Events Center and director of marketing for the Home Builders Association of Metro Portland.

Columbia Title recently announced the addition of Cindy Schmid-Potter to its escrow staff.

Schmid-Potter comes to the title insurance and escrow company with more than 13 years of experience and knowledge in the real estate industry.

Kari StansberryKARI STANSBERRY

iQ Credit Union has promoted Kari Stansberry to senior vice president of human resources. Previously, she served as human resources manager.

Stansberry has eight years of experience in HR management, including positions with Case Power and Equipment and The Vancouver Clinic. She joined iQ Credit Union’s human resources team in 2012.

A graduate of Washington State University, Stansberry has a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She also holds a master’s degree from City University in Vancouver.

Darlene ShararDARLENE SHARAR

HDJ Design Group, a Vancouver-based engineering, planning, land survey and landscape architecture firm, has hired Darlene Sharar as a civil engineering designer.

Sharar has more than 27 years of technical transportation engineering experience. She has worked for WSDOT, county and city public works and a council of governments.

Her background includes: Interchange Justification Reports, limited and managed access, and limited access hearings; roundabout education and specification development; signal and illumination system design; development review; LAG and WSDOT manual chapter update and lead.

Renee Bartocci has joined Washington State University Vancouver as executive assistant to the chancellor.

In her new role, Bartocci will serve as advisor to Chancellor Emile “Mel” Netzhammer on a variety of matters, and will represent the Chancellor’s Office at events, activities and meetings. Additionally, she will oversee the office’s administrative activities, including the coordination of communication between faculty, staff, students and outside groups.

Bartocci is a marketing and project management professional. She spent much of her career at Hewlett-Packard.

Members of the Washington Economic Development Association (WEDA) have voted to elect CREDC President Mike Bomar to the organization’s Board of Directors to serve a three-year term. Additionally, city of Vancouver Economic Development Manager Teresa Brum has been re-elected to the board, serving as secretary of the WEDA Executive Committee.

WEDA is a state-wide, nonprofit association of nearly 140 private businesses, economic development councils, ports, governments and other partners committed to enhancing the state’s climate for economic development.

The WEDA Board of Directors is comprised of 20 members from public and private organizations throughout the state.

VANCOUVER METRO SUNSET ROTARY CLUB

Kim Hash, director of development and communication at Share, was recently installed as the 2014-2015 president of Vancouver Metro Sunset Rotary Club.

Other officers are David Commeree, president-elect; Rob Thomas, president-elect nominee and secretary; Lyle Smith, treasurer; Kelly Walsh, co-sergeant-at-arms; Jesse Harvey, co-sergeant-at-arms; and Dena Horton, immediate past president. ROTARY CLUB OF VANCOUVER

Elson Strahan, president and CEO of the Fort Vancouver National Trust, was recently installed as the 2014-2015 president of the Rotary Club of Vancouver.

Other officers are Scott Anders, president-elect; John McDonagh, president nominee; Victor DeAntonis, secretary; Diana Acuesta, treasurer; Gary Bock, sergeant-at-arms and Susanne Cox, immediate past president. SHANDHYA PRAKASHNI

Shandhya Prakashni of Padden Pkwy Insurance Agency LLC in Vancouver has been named an exclusive agent for Horace Mann Educators Corporation. Horace Mann is a national multiline insurance company based in Illinois.

Prakashni will serve school employees throughout Southwest Washington.

“I joined Horace Mann because I grew up witnessing firsthand how hard teachers work,” she said. “I chose Horace Mann so I can give back to the educational community and help educate educators on their personal insurance and financial needs.”
