Chef James Wallace has been selected as the new executive chef at Skamania Lodge.

Classically trained at Oregon’s Horst Mager Culinary Institute, Wallace comes to the lodge as a 30-year veteran of the food service industry. He plans to leverage the Pacific Northwest and the Gorge’s resources to treat guests to regionally-sourced cuisine.

“I have worked most of my career at a destination of some kind,” said Wallace, “but the Lodge’s unique location gives us a plentiful bounty to work with – from the Pacific coast and its amazing fresh seafood, to the orchards to the east providing us with an abundance of wonderful fruit. I plan to look at what’s best about the Northwest, and start there.”
