Applewood announces new management before opening new location

As Applewood NW Cuisine prepares to open up its new location on the corner of SE 192nd and 20th in Vancouver, the restaurant has named Kevin Lisman and Pam Smith co-managers.

Lisman has been appointed general manager. With more than 20 years as a senior manager in the hospitality industry, Applewood said Lisman has extensive experience in all aspects of restaurant, lounge and catering operations.

"It took me about a second and a half to know that this was home," said Lisman.  "Applewood is primed to be the premiere restaurant and catering company in the Vancouver area.  We have all the tools."

Smith has been promoted to sales and catering coordinator. An Applewood employee for nine years, Smith will focus on the restaurant's full-service catering operation. She has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Oregon State University and has worked in the restaurants for more than 25 years.

"I want our customers to have the best dining experience from the time they walk in the door until they leave," said Smith. "I look forward to being of service to all of our existing customers as well as new ones."

Applewood's new location is slated to open on Monday, November 22nd.

 

MATTHEW BLUM

The Law Offices of Carolyn M. Drew P. S. has announced the hiring of attorney Matthew Blum.

Blum has practiced law in Washington since 2007, where he started as an associate attorney for a Spokane firm specializing in civil litigation. While practicing in Spokane, Matt provided litigation support for a six-week dental malpractice trial that resulted in a $15 million jury verdict for his client. Blum shifted his focus to family law in 2009, working for the Vancouver location of Stahancyk, Kent & Hook P.C.

His new office said Matt's calm demeanor and reasoned approach with clients has led to a reputation as an attorney who brings stability to an often chaotic practice.

 

JEFF TAYLOR

Columbia Credit Union announced the hiring of Jeff Taylor as vice president of business services.

The company said Taylor will focus on growing and managing business loan and deposit relationships, and assist with commercial lending operations.

Taylor holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Vancouver and is a 2008 Leadership Clark County graduate.

Established in 1952, Columbia Credit Union has $758 million in assets and 12 Clark County locations.

 

AARON HENDERSON

The Touch Agency has promoted Aaron Henderson to vice president of sales.

The Vancouver-based natural and organic foods marketing company said Henderson's promotion is directed at building highly effective marketing, trade marketing and sales development teams.  Henderson's responsibilities include directing and managing the sales team and prioritizing key client initiatives.

"Our vision for the sales team is to deploy the most dedicated, well-trained business managers in the industry. Aaron, working with our marketing and trade marketing departments will ensure that they are also the best equipped to deliver results," said Al Springer, president and founder of The Touch Agency.

 

JEFF VOLKMAN

Adamas Realty has announced the hiring of Jeff Volkman as managing broker.

With more than 15 years of real estate industry experience, the company said Volkman has built great relationships with his peers throughout Clark County. He will be responsible for helping other agents and brokers understand how to increase their commissions.

 

BROOKE KOPPI

Brooke Koppi has recently aligned herself with Keller Williams Realty Premier Partners in downtown Vancouver.

 "Currently, I am participating in a program called CAMP 4-4-3 which is giving me the tools, systems, models and education needed to provide the highest level of service to my friends, family and others I meet," said Koppi. "My goal is to assist as many people as possible with their future, and I believe that real estate is the answer."

Koppi holds a degree in business from Clark College. She is also a graduate of Vancouver's Evergreen High School.
