Tidewater names new chief financial officer

Tidewater Holdings Inc., parent company of Tidewater Barge Lines, has announced Tyler Kopet as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Kopet will join the company this month, working with Tidewater's current CFO, Larry Swearingen, until he retires in December. Kopet will serve on Tidewater's executive management team and participate in overall corporate strategic planning.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Tyler to Tidewater's management team. His experience in finance and leadership roles will be a tremendous asset to the company," said Tidewater President and CEO Dennis McVicker. "I'm confident Tyler will help drive our focus on incident-free operations and maintaining our track record of excellent customer service, safety and environmental stewardship."

Most recently, Kopet was CFO at MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions Inc., a major mechanical contracting firm in Seattle.

 

IRA NIES

Martel Wealth Advisors Inc. has announced the hiring of Ira Nies as an investment advisor.

The firm said Nies has more than 35 years of financial planning experience and specializes in small business retirement plans.  He was the founder and president of Nies Insurance Agency Inc. of Clark County and has lived in Vancouver for over 50 years.

Martel Wealth Advisors Inc. is a locally owned firm working with clients since 1982.

 

JUDGE BARBARA JOHNSON

Judge Barbara Johnson has received the 2010 Vocational Service Award from Rotary Club of Vancouver and Columbia River Economic Development Council.

The award recognizes an individual in our community who exemplifies outstanding commitment to their business or profession, while leaving a lasting positive influence on their vocational area and the community.

Johnson has served as a judge for 22 years. After graduating from the University of Washington School of Law, she began her legal career as a deputy prosecuting attorney for King County. Appointed to the bench by Governor Booth Gardner in 1987, she was the first female judge in the history of Clark County Superior Court.

 

LINDSAY FISHER & MEGAN CARLSON

Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Funeral Chapel and Crematory is pleased to announce the promotion of two of its employees.

Lindsay Fisher has been promoted to vice president of administration. She has been with Evergreen since February 2006.

Fisher is a member of the Rotary Club of Greater Clark County and served a three-year term on the board for the Washington Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association. She earned degrees in hospitality business management and business administration from Washington State University.

Megan Carlson has been promoted to vice president of crematory operations. She has been with Evergreen since 2005.

Carlson is a licensed funeral director and served as secretary/treasurer for District 4 of the Washington State Funeral Directors Association. She is a graduate of the University of Washington.
