Vancouver's Downtown Association announced recently that Linda Glover had been elected to serve as president.

Glover, executive director of Gifts for Our Community, which operates Divine Consign on Main Street downtown, has been a board member since 2005. Joining her on the executive team are vice president KC Fuller, secretary Charlene Dahlen and treasurer Linda McLain. 

"I am very excited to serve as president of this very talented group that loves our downtown and wants to make good things happen here. It's going to be an exciting time of change," Glover said.

TROY STARIHA

The Port of Kalama Commissioners announced the selection of local businessman Troy Stariha as interim Port Commissioner, effective immediately.

Stariha will assume the seat formerly held by Commissioner Fred Swanstrom, who died in May after 15 years of service. Stariha will represent the Port until January 2012, when Swanstrom's term would have ended.

A Kalama resident since 1981, Stariha owns Kalama Auto Supply and Repair.

BLAINE SANTA MONICA

Blaine Santa Monica recently joined the Vancouver office of BrightStar Healthcare as director of sales and marketing.

Santa Monica most recently was the marketing manager and community relations director for Merrill Gardens at Orchards Village Senior Living Community. For BrightStar Healthcare, he will be responsible for business development, sales, brand awareness, marketing and community relations.
