BIA announces new programs staff

The Building Industry Association of Clark County is pleased to announce three additional staff members: Steve Madsen as Government Affairs Director, Liz Pike as Political Affairs Director and Garrett Delano as coordinator for Membership Programs & Services.

Madsen, a previous employee at BIA's government affairs department, will once again represent the BIA's government affairs program. He will oversee the Builder Developer Council and represent the membership on building industry-specific issues.

A former elected member of the Camas City Council, Pike comes to the BIA with over 30 years of professional business experience. She will oversee the Building Industry Group fundraising and programs.

Delano attended Washington State University, later starting his own company, Support One Networks. In addition to producing the BIA's newsletter, Garrett will coordinate the website, membership education classes and the Building Futures Foundation Scholarship Committee.

KEN DAHLSTROM

Ken Dahlstrom this month joined Pinnacle Mortgage Planning in Vancouver as a senior mortgage advisor. A 23-year mortgage industry professional, Dahlstrom most recently worked for Riverview Community Bank. Prior to that, he worked for First Independent and U.S. Bank.

In addition to his volunteer work for Junior Achievement, Dahlstrom is treasurer for the Vancouver Levy committee and an active member of the Vancouver Fine Homes group.

MATTHEW LEE

Matthew Lee, CPA, joined the accounting firm Opsahl, Dawson & Company, P.S. as manager of the firm's Vancouver branch office. He has a B.A. from Portland State University and brings over 20 years of experience working in both the private and public sectors.

Prior to joining Opsahl, Dawson & Co., Lee worked as a chief financial officer and controller and, most recently, was a manager at a local CPA firm.

GILBERT SIMAS

Lifeline Connections, a nonprofit agency offering residential and outpatient as well as fully-integrated mental health services for those suffering from the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction, announced Gilbert Simas, M.D. as medical director.

Simas is an addiction psychiatrist specializing in neurologistic addiction psychiatry. He is a graduate of St. Matthew's School of Medicine having completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

TAMARA FULLER

NAI Norris, Beggs & Simpson vice president Tamara Fuller earned the designation of Certified Green Broker, a certification granted within the commercial real estate industry to brokers and affiliated professionals completing the Certified Green Broker course.

Fuller, an office broker at the NAI NBS Vancouver office, joined the company in 2000. Since then, she has helped lease more than one million square feet of space and sold about $18 million in real estate.

LISA SCHAUER

MacKay and Sposito Inc. recently announced Lisa Schauer, CPSM, as partner. Schauer is the first female partner in the firm's 36-year history. 

A graduate of Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Arts and a double major in political science and public relations, Schauer has been a member of the M&S team for 10 years. 

A Camas resident, Schauer is a member of the Columbia Credit Union Board, Children's Center Board and the ZweigWhite Marketing Advisory Board.
