Murdock Charitable Trust officer named Manager of the Year

Jim Martin, chief investment officer of the Vancouver-based M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, has been named 2010 Small Foundation Manager of the Year by Institutional Investor magazine.  The international award recognizes U.S. institutional investors whose innovative strategies and fiduciary savvy resulted in impressive returns for their organizations. Award winners, chosen by the magazine's editorial board, are individuals who have stood out in the eyes of the investor community for their exceptional performance, risk management and service.

Martin, an employee of the Murdock Trust for more than 20 years, attributes the investment performance at the Murdock Trust to a "team effort."

Murdock Trust has provided $590 million through over 4,300 grants since its founding in 1975.
