Murdock Charitable Trust officer named Manager of the Year

Jim Martin, chief investment officer of the Vancouver-based M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, has been named 2010 Small Foundation Manager of the Year by Institutional Investor magazine.  The international award recognizes U.S. institutional investors whose innovative strategies and fiduciary savvy resulted in impressive returns for their organizations. Award winners, chosen by the magazine's editorial board, are individuals who have stood out in the eyes of the investor community for their exceptional performance, risk management and service.

Martin, an employee of the Murdock Trust for more than 20 years, attributes the investment performance at the Murdock Trust to a "team effort."

Murdock Trust has provided $590 million through over 4,300 grants since its founding in 1975.

LAUREN REED

Financial Advisors, Inc. is pleased to announce that Lauren Reed completed her Certified Financial Planner course of study and attained the CFP designation in September 2009.  The exam marked the end of an intensive one-year graduate study program at the University of Portland and completes another step of progression in her chosen field of finance. 

Reed graduated from Oregon State University in 2006 with a degree in business finance. She started as office manager and learned every step in the planning process from the ground up.

She is part of the team of David W. Mason, CFP, Kellie Hall and now Lauren Reed, CFP, whose team of professionals has over 50 years of Financial Planning and Investment Management experience.
