Vancouver-based engineering and consulting firm Sigma Design announced the addition of seven employees last week, including Bob Callaway, an electrical engineer with 30 years of motion control experience at Hewlett-Packard; Berne Strome, a mechanical engineer with a broad, varied skill-set, active in many Society of Automobile Engineers events; Mike Bowen, a mechanical engineer who recently joined Sigma after a short retirement; Erikk Ojala, a mechanical engineer who worked at the Lawrence Livermore lab helping design a hydrogen gas-gun used to study meteorite impacts; Bill Fournier, a mechanical engineer starting his career at Boeing as a machinist working on 747s; Carla Hoyer, a logistic coordinator bringing a broad range of skills to Sigma; and Randy Lloyd, director of business development, joining Sigma with 20 years of experience in project and product management.

Leadership Clark County's board of directors last month elected three new members to join its 18-member board overseeing the nonprofit's operations, events and its 10-month leadership training curriculum.

The new board members serving three-year terms include Jason Beatty, vice president and owner of large-format digital graphics company Techjet Imaging. Beatty, a LCC 2008 alumnus, was included in VBJ's 2006 Accomplished and Under 40 list. Michael Ciraulo is mayor of Battle Ground and is currently serving his second term on the Battle Ground City Council. In addition, Ciraulo is chief fire officer with Clark County Fire & Rescue and a member of several community boards. Kelly Sills, economic development manager for the Clark County Board of Commissioners, sits on the board of directors for five Washington state nonprofits in addition to LCC. Sills is a 2002 LCC graduate.

Jewelry-seller Lia Sophia recently announced top honors for local advisors Hansilenah Rosengreen of Ridgefield and Jill Davis of Vancouver for their outstanding sales accomplishments and professionalism. Rosengreen and Davis have earned this accomplishment in their first 15 weeks on the job. "This immediate success is a result of their hard work and dedication," said Bonni Davis, vice president of Lia Sophia.
