Waterford at Fairway Village announces executive director

Eric Christensen has been appointed executive director of Waterford at Fairway Village. In this position, he oversees all aspects of the retirement community, including homes, lifestyles, the Waterford Health and Fitness Club, Waterford Rehabilitation and Aquatic Therapy and Waterford Home Health and Home Care.

Most recently, he served as Waterford's director of sales and marketing, a position he held for three years. Before joining Waterford, Christensen worked for Battle Ground-based PCR Contracting and Verizon Wireless in Vancouver.

Christensen holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Biblical studies from Grand Canyon University and a Master of Divinity from Western Seminary.

ANDREW LONG

Clark College names director of advising

Andrew Long is the new director of advising at Clark College.

Long graduated from the University of Essex in Colchester, England, with a bachelor of arts degree in United States studies, and holds a master's degree in history from California State University Los Angeles.

Most recently, he served on the faculty at California State University Dominguez Hills as director of the university advisement center, director of the First Year Experience program, academic ombudsman and instructor for Freshmen College Success courses.

SWMC names director of cardiovascular services

Ben R. Stokes was hired as the new executive director of cardiovascular services at Southwest Washington Medical Center's Heart and Vascular Center. He oversees operations and opportunities at the center.

Most recently, Stokes served as the president of Heartland Partners LLC, a multi-member health care consulting firm primarily focused on hospital-based heart and vascular services. He also served as the senior manager of health care economics for Medtronic Inc., a Fortune 500 biomedical device company.

Clark County YMCA adds to board

Scott Firstenburg and Cindy Johnson have joined the Clark County YMCA board of managers.

Firstenburg is a cash management officer at First Independent, where he has worked as a banker since 1989. He also serves on the boards of the Council for the Homeless, Community Housing Resource Center and Leadership Clark County.

Johnson is an advertising account manager at the Vancouver Business Journal, where she consults with local businesses to create valuable marketing strategies to best fit their needs. She has worked in customer service, sales and marketing for more than 25 years and has volunteered numerous community organizations and last year founded a networking group, WIN! (Women In Networking).
