Wells Fargo promotes Zalk to membership banking regional manager

Wells Fargo has appointed Battle Ground resident Todd Zalk its membership banking
regional program manager for Southwest Washington and Oregon.

In his new position, the company said Zalk is responsible for providing free and discounted financial services to employee groups of Wells Fargo business customers throughout the region.

Zalk started his financial services career at Bank of Clark County where he served as a business relationship officer from 2007 to 2009. He then joined Wells Fargo as a business banking specialist. His career also includes working for nine years in business development for two national contractors in Vancouver.

Zalk has co-chaired Evergreen School District's general advisory committee and served on its business committee since 2007. He has also served on the Battle Ground School District's business and general advisory committees since 2008.


 

Larry Mains

Clark College Culinary Arts Professor Larry Mains has received the 2010 Chef Emeritus Award from the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Chefs de Cuisine Society of Oregon.

The ACF recognized Mains for his "continued and lengthy commitment and contributions to our Society, our profession, and to mentoring and teaching our generations." The award was presented during the organization's Chef of the Year dinner in November.

This is the fourth time in his career that Professor Mains has been honored by this professional organization. He was named Instructor of the Year in 2002 and received the Charles Altorfer Professionalism Award in 2005.

 


Dr. Abraham Perlstein

Bank of America recently recognized Vancouver's Dr. Abraham Perlstein as part of its "Neighborhood Excellence Initiative."

With the recognition, Dr. Perlstein directed a $5,000 donation from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to Columbia River Mental Health Services (CRMHS).

Dr. Perlstein has been volunteering at the Wellness Project (WP) since it opened in January 2004. A program of Community Services Northwest, the WP is the only free mental health program in Clark County. Dr. Perlstein has provided over 500 hours of counseling and medication management services while managing a private practice and working at CRMHS.

Bank of America's Neighborhood Excellence Initiative has committed $3.15 million in flexible funding and leadership training to area nonprofits since 2004.
