Co-owners Steve Ferree and wife, Michele, accepted the award on behalf of their team during the company's convention in Las Vegas. The husband-and-wife duo nabbed the honors for growing their business 11 percent in challenging economic times for the industry, putting them in the top 10 percent of all Mr. Rooter franchises in North America

Four employees of Vancouver-based MGH Associates, Inc. have become Accredited Professionals of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a rating system of the U.S. Green Building Council. Principals Mike Miller and Dave Humber, along with Project Managers Laura Standridge and Greta Lavadour received the LEED-AP designation after passing the Green Building Council's exam in design, construction and operation.

The Southwest Washington Medical Center Foundation announced the election of five members to its Foundation Board of Directors Sept. 16. The list includes Dick Hannah, owner of Hannah Motors; Dorothy Jackson, who with husband, Mel, owns Fort Vancouver Convalescent Center; Dr. Al Krause, a heart surgeon at SWMC; Mark Matthias, co-founder of Beaches Restaurant in Vancouver; and Kay McClaskey, a past board member of the Community Foundation of Southwest Washington.

Pabst Holland & Reynolds, PLLC, announced the addition of Pat Pabst and John Briscoe to its team of attorneys. Pabst, a founding member, will become Of Counsel to the firm. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma's law school, Briscoe will focus on business, estate planning and real estate for the firm.

Structural engineering and consulting company REA welcomed Jerry Shawler as design engineer at the firm. With over six years experience in the industry, Shawler graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Walla Walla University and is a licensed engineer in Washington state and California.
