Messina Phillip

Messina has a bachelor’s degree in speech from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in whole systems design from Antioch University, Seattle, Washington.

John FranklinJOHN FRANKLIN

Vancouver’s M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust has hired John Franklin to serve as program director beginning in October.

Franklin held significant leadership roles during the past three decades at the National Youth organization Young Life. In his current role as the senior vice president, he oversees the Western Division as well as strategic planning for the organization.

“We are honored and delighted to have John join the work of the Trust in his new role as a program director,” said Steve Moore, executive director of the Murdock Trust. “His long-term involvement in the Northwest provides a remarkable relational network, and his experience with youth organizations and leadership development will be a great asset to our mission.”

Franklin is a graduate of the University of Oregon, Fuller Theological Seminary and has done other graduate studies.
