CREDC names new director of business recruitment and project finance

The Columbia River Economic Development Council (CREDC) recently announced that Peter King has been named director of business recruitment and project finance.

In his new role, King will be responsible for the execution and management of the CREDC’s business recruitment efforts, which involves assisting business and public partners in developing creative avenues for financing key projects and participating in a broad variety of other economic development initiatives. He will also be involved with the council’s work to help existing businesses grow.

“We are thrilled to have Peter join the CREDC’s team,” said Lisa Nisenfeld, CREDC president. “Peter brings a wealth of knowledge from the real estate brokerage industry to help move Clark County’s new economic development plan forward.”

Previously, King worked for Kidder Mathews and NAI Norris, Beggs & Simpson where he was recognized as one of the top new deal makers in the market in 2003 by the Commercial Association
of Realtors.

The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce (GVCC) appointed Eric Sawyer, area manager for BBSI Preferred Payroll, to its board of directors. In addition to his recent appointment, Sawyer has been elected to serve as board vice-chair.

“As a chamber member, and a chamber ambassador, Eric understands the value of establishing long-time business partnerships within the community,” said GVCC President/CEO Kelly Parker. “He epitomizes a new wave of business leaders in our community: enthusiastic, optimistic and determined.”

Sawyer’s appointment completes the chamber’s newly-elected board members for the 2011-2012 year.
